Chesterfield Cluster Benchball Event

Friday 8th October saw the highly anticipated KS2 Benchball event for the Chesterfield Cluster. Being the first KS2 event of the school year, and since COVID struck, I think it is safe to say that this event went down a treat with nothing but smiles from everyone in attendance.

It was so lovely to see the children of Brimington Junior School, Christ Church C of E Primary School, Creswell Junior School, Newbold C of E Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School all coming together to compete in this Benchball event, all doing what they do best, having fun! I would like to say a personal well done to all the Year 3 and Year 4 for working so hard and showing true sportsmanship, in a game which some had never even played before. You all did an amazing job!

The event some intense games of Benchball with each team fighting to come out on top. Newbold A faced their final game against Brimington to take the title of Benchball champions. It was arguably the most nail biting game of the day, with both teams battling with all the energy they had left to score the most points. It should not go unmentioned that St Mary’s who had two teams top their respective groups!

Once again, thank you to the staff for enabling the children to attend such an amazing cluster event and another well done to each and every child that took part. We hope to see many of you at the next Qualitas event.
